  1. Hi there, I'm a newbie using Windows XP that would be eternally grateful to any help someone could give me help with this. Recently when I try loading up certain programs like messenger, otlook, powerpoint and excel, I get this error messge that the "procedure entry point GetLongPathNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll". It seems to be hitting more and more programs and I'm really nervous tha the whole things gonna crash soon! Help somebody...

Try doing a system restore to a day when it was working.

tahnks for your reply... I wouldn't really know how to go about a system restore to be honest, and I just got rid of some nasty spywares and don't want to restore them back. Anyway to just fix this kernel32.dll file. I know I must sound rather ignorant, but when it comes to the nuts and bolts of computers, sadly I am..
