Erratic DVD

I am having problems with DVD/Video. I edit files into a full movie - approximately 5 mins long. I drop in an audio file to use as background music and everything proceeds as it should. I then get the message that everything has saved as it should. When I try to play it back it starts ok and then starts to "stutter" and drop out. The same thing happens when you burn a DVD and play it on an external DVD player?
Anyone out there know why ?????

what brand and model of DVD Burner? and what media are you using?

Erratic DV

Using Nero 6 media software and Philips DVDR 1640 to burn the DVD.
