Event viewer not readable somtimes

Hi,

We are having problem with the event viewer in Windows 2000. The problem is sometimes you are not able to read event viewer and the workaround is rebooting the system. But this happens like 2 days, 1 month, etc so there is no pattern.

Can somebody please help find a solution
