Excel: Sorting with Formula

I'm working with an excel document and I am having trouble with the sorting function since I have formulas within my data. Whe I use the sort function, the reference cell does not shift to the new position as it normally woud when you use copy or cut command. Is there a way to get around this?

You sure youre sorting down and not across?

YEP! a real bummer! (my Office 2000 at least). seems like it would have been so obvious that this needed to work, but I've never got it right in several years now

As far as I know. What I do is select the spreadsheet cells that contains data and click sort ascending. Here is the screenshot
