Hi

I have just bought an external HDD for storage. I deleted the partition and re partitioned into 3 partitions. WIN xp says the disks are healthy but I cant format them. It says the file system is raw.

How do I change it to NTFS and how do I format these partitions.

The drive is a Ritmo 250GB 3.5" external box

I am using WIN XP

Please help

Thanks

Hi

Right click my computer and choose manage, then choose disk management, right click each partition and choose create partition, then format them.

Be seeing you...

I know this thread is 3 mths old but I am having a similar problem.

The problem with the original HDD was...it was faulty. I had it replaced and it worked fine for a short while.

Now...the damn thing wont work again. XP wont find it...I was reading another thread on here and it said something about deleting all my usb controllers and letting XP find everything again....would that work with my prob?

Thanks guys...I appreciate your assistance

Hi

Hijacking a 3 month old thread isnt a good idea, luckily for you im still subscribed to it,

Can you explain exactly your situation so we can help better, but try removing the USB items first and see if it resolves it, if not post back

Regards
