factory restore in windows xp

hello

can anyone tell me how to restore my computer to factory settings? i have the original xp cd...but unsure what to do!! my last computer was a compaq... and had 3 cds... quick restore i think they were called.

any help would be appreciated.. got so much junk on here!! and lately i have been getting sooooo many junk emails...i need to clean the machine up.

Restore to it factory mode? I'm not sure, I just do a reformat...
