Faulty Mouse Wheel

I didn't know mice had evolved that far

Anyway, i bought a new Logitech LX3 at the weekend, great thing, but the scroll wheel is odd.
When scrolling down, the movement is erratic and slow, and in Oblivion, I have 'clicking in' set to 'Cast' but it also zooms out my character.
Movement up is slightly better but still quite erratic.
I removed the Logitech software but that didnt make a difference.

reinstall the latest logitech mouse software, ( SetPoint 3.01) check the settings and enable "smooth scroll".

I havent been able to find an option called that. However im using 2.49a, so ill download the latest one like you said.

The thing is, it now works fine and i dont know why, ill still give smooth scroll a try, and i've remapped the scroll wheel button from zoom to Midlle Button.
