File Server Programing

I have added a new server to my domain. The domain is behind an ISA firewall server. I have the DC, an Exchange server and now a new file server. I believe I am having Group Policy issues with the new server. I am receiving event "Application" errors 1030 and 1058. Could someone give me some direction on how to configure the new server to stop these errors. The server has beed added to the domain. I have set up the needed shares for the files. I have installed Veritas Remote backup and that is all of the configuring I have done. Do I want Active Directory on this server and what else should be done? I just want it as a file server. Thank you
