Firefox Browser Problems

I Have run Mozilla for ages, however reciently changed to Firefox and Thunderbird. I am having trouble with Firefox downloading files and plugins. I keep getting the message "This object has been blocked"

Mozilla and IE5 will both download, so it is not a connection problem.

Have upgraded from Firefox 1.0 to FF1.0.1 with no difference.

Have you enabled "Allow web sites to install software" in Preferences - Web Features? It affects installing plugins.

Checked all options and they seem to be set corrrectly.

Had a good look around everything, convinced that ff was ok. checked firewall made number of changes and everything working ok now.
