Firewire 1394 Service?

I have a somewhat simple question. Is there a Windows service that could be disabled for a firewire external HD?

Recently I went though and disabled a bunch of useless services using this as a guide: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

My external HD doesn't show up on My Computer or Device Manager now and this is the only think I can think of. It works on other PC's and Mac's. I am current with windows and my BIOS drivers.

Removable Storage or
Plug and Play

Actually I like BlackViper optimized services, there's lots of info too

Ah, Thanks guys!

I knew about the removable storage but didn't think about those other ones. I set them all on automatic.

I went inside and jiggled my firewire card too and after I rebooted it worked. I think the card is just getting too old and it has a bad connection.
