Hi,
First post so please bear with me.
I have a fully working PC,
Sempron 64 3000+,
Gigabyte GA-K8NE
2 x 512 DDR
Nvidia 7600GT
2X IDE Hard drives
have just purchased my 1st SATA hard drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 200GB
It is working fine in windows using my old IDE hard drive as the bootup and the new HD is picked up in windows and working fine, but i was hoping to use the new HD as the bootup with Windows XP pro with the old IDE drives as simple storage, when i enter the BIOS i cannot choose this drive as the primary bootup HD although when i insert the XP CD it will install the inital files to the drive but when it restarts the system it just cycles back to the CD bootup.
I have tried all the possible options for the boot sequence and cannot get it to boot straight from the SATA drive.
I'm sure it is something extremely simple and have read elsewhere to select the SCSI option in the boot sequence menu although this is not option available to me.
Thanks in advance for any help, greatly appreciated.
