Flash doesn't work on Flash enabled websites

ok.
the problem is that i can't see any flashes on any site. for example i go to ed test site. i can't see their meters!. i go to chatting site i can see nothing. just a small icon on the top left side. i d/l macromedia flash 8 . still no difference.

wat is the problem where have i go wrong??
is this a software problem or ??

any useful help really appreciated.

The most common reasons that Flash content fails to display are:

Pop-up blockers blocking Flash -

The most common cause of Flash movies failing to display is the presence of a pop-up/ad blocker
software that specifically targets Flash content.

Internet utilities blocking ActiveX -

Some Internet Utilities, such as Norton Internet Utilities, perform functions
similar to a firewall and may restrict viewing of ActiveX controls.
You need to ensure that your firewall or utility settings are set to allow ActiveX controls
or you will not be able to view Flash movies in Internet Explorer.

Plugins not enabled in IE options,or security settings too high.

Restricted User accounts are unable to display Flash Player content -

After successful installation under the Windows Administrator account,
Restricted User accounts are unable to display Flash Player content.
Users who installed Flash Player 8.0.24.0 prior to April 6, 2006 must uninstall
using the Flash Player uninstaller released on May 11, 2006. Uninstall Flash Player
using the instructions in How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player.

i have tried everything that was told. but no change.

Have you tried other browsers like Firefox or Opera ? (You should use one of those anyway)

If sounds like an installation issue more than a display issue.

i have tried firefox and it did the job. thanx to every one that took the time to help.

I've tried Firefox and I just can't get used to it. I'm using IE7 Beta2 and this Flash issue haunts me too. I don't leave my system on 24/7 so when I shut down, and then turning on, I have to manually uninstall Flash using Adobe's uninstall utility, and then "reinstall" Flash to get it to work... Popup blockers on or off. It doesn't matter. Flash will work fine until I restart from a cold boot. Then the trouble returns. This happens with IE6 too

I downloaded the latest version of Opera. It looks pretty cool. I'll have to work with it a while

I had this same program with some games i was trying to play, and it would not work with internet explorer. so i tried mozilla firefox and it worked fine, maybe thats all u need?
