Flash Drive Blues

My 512MB Flash Drive can receive data on my old laptop and transfer it to
my new Dell (XP). However, when copying data from Mydocuments (WP6.0)
to the flash drive it invariably stops after about 100 or so documents
indicating it can't copy such and such a document, (doesn't say why) I have deleted these documents but it always picks out a new one. Curiously I have plenty of space left on the drive according to the directory command but the copying does stop around the same place, i.e, 110 documents or so.

I'm puzzled. Any thoughts?

the file system could be corrupt. have you tried doing a format on the flash drive??

I thought of it (like a "format E") but I was afraid of erasing any software
that exists on the Flash Drive.
