Floppy Drive scans/runs when starting Microsoft IE

When ever Internet Explorer is started the floppy disk scans and tries to run no matter if there is a disk inserted or not? What is causeing this and what can I do to stop it? Also since this has been happening my floppy drive has been running really, really, really slow. ANy help is greatly aprreciated.
