Forgot the spacers

In my haste to throw together my new system I forgot a critical part of the process. The spacers. My MB made a "pop" followed by that dreaded smell...

My question for the board is this.. What are the chances I fried my CPU also? After I burnt the MB I took the CPU out and it "looks" fine.

Im waiting on the next board to come in the mail before I can even test the CPU. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Your local pc repair shop will test your cpu for you. It should only cost a few dollars to have this done. At least you`d know for sure then.
