Hello, this is my first post on the TS boards. Hopefully I've come to the right spot for some assistance, any help is greatly appreicated.
Well I mainly play World of Warcraft, but recently playing some Dota I noticed this happening too. In dota I don't get any system information like I do in wow, so I don't know exactly my fps in wc3:ft.
While playing wow, I have my fps/ping/memory usage displayed via an addon so I can monitor those things. My fps is 60 while standing still, from 40-60 while moving around in game, drops to 30-40 while raiding. However when this fps issue starts it drops to 12-15 and while raiding it's 6 fps. Now there is nothing particular to start this, it's pretty random, can happen while I'm not raiding, while raiding, nothing outside the game is running except ventrilo and or winamp. No updates, no virus scans, etc.
My gaming rig is a:
P4 3.4
2 gigs of Corsair
Asus P5NSLI (im not running sli)
Nvidia 7600 gt
I'm currently running Vista, I've been using it since release, but I'm just noticing this problem now, so I'm not too sure if it's OS related or not, I assume not. However, shutting down my pc and restarting does fix the problem, sometimes I don't have to restart for hours, sometimes within the hour. So I don't rule out OS.
