I have windows 98 running with a 733mhz pentium 3, 382mb ram and have two hard drives. When I start/restart, the dell computer logo comes on and the computer goes through the flopppy drive then the disc drive and then the hard drive, I suppose looking for startup files etc. After the hard drive lights up for twenty to thirty seconds or so, the computer just freezes with the dell logo on the screen (Windows 98 splash screen has not yet appeared). It stays like this for approximately 2 minutes and then it beeps and the windows 98 screen comes on and it boots up normally. This 2 minute delay is driving me crazy. What can I do?? I do not have the windows98 os on a disk else I would clear it and reinstall. I have tried going through microsofts troubleshooting for startup problems etc. Thanks in advance for your help.
