GeForce 6600 LE and Lego SW

  1. I recently purchased a refurbished Gateway 7200XL desktop for my son. The integrated graphics card was obviously not capable of handling some of the games he plays (Lego SW, Polar Express). I purchased a GeForce 6600 LE (PCI-E) and installed it. The error message I receive states that the GPU doesn't support pixel shading even though Edios' Tech FAQ states thast the GeForce 6 Series supports pixel shading and will work. I plan to return the 6600 LE and buy a 6600 or the 6600 GT. This has been a several-day headache and I really just want to buy a card, have it work and move on! I have several questions:

    1. Will the 6600 GT provide the needed specs to run his Lego SW game?
    2. Based on some things I have read online, I am concerned about the wattage required to power the 6600 GT. Please tell me how to determine the power supply wattage in the 7200XL machine. Is it on the power supply box itself?

Here are the specs of Gateway 7200XL that he has:
    P4 2.8 Ghz
    333Mhz Dram
    L2 1024 Cache
    Motherboard: SE91510J.15a.1578.2204.0913.1622
    800 Mhz Sys Bus
    Dual Channel memory
    Lite-On Combo ATAPI (DVD Drive)

You can calculate your power needs here:

That 6600LE should be more than enough to run that game. Did you try the latest drivers for it? It may also be that your motherboard chipset drivers and/or bios need to be updated.
