Geforce 7600GS settings revert in Battlefield 2

I use the nVidia control panel to override Battlefield 2's in-game settings. However, when I'm playing the game those control panel settings will disable and aliasing becomes very apparent. The frame rate gets real smooth, but I'm one who sacrifices the extra FPS to make the game look pretty. So I alt-tab to the desktop and back, and the settings are once again enabled-- for a while. In a single round I could do the alt-tab routine about 10 times. I'm thinking this is a driver issue?

Windows XP Home SP2
SLI Geforce 7600GS, driver version 6.14.11.6921
Athlon 64 X2 4600+

Well, the last digits of my version number are actually the same as the current version, because I've already updated to it. That's why yours says the same thing.

Did some tinkering and found the culprit. Since I disabled dual-core threaded optimization in the nVidia control panel, the problem has disappeared.

Incidentally, it looks like the problem still occurs, but not on all maps. So I'm confused now, but the situation is in better shape than before.

I also tried disabling SLI, which didn't fix it.
