Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

hey!

heres what ya need! i cant find the combofix log.. do i have to run it again? and the rootkit thing cant be done in safe mode.. keeps askin me to reboot.. hmm

thanks.

You`ll find the Combofix report at C:\combofix.txt.

The AVG Antirootkit programme isn`t supposed to be run from safe mode. Follow the instructions in step11. Your not supposed to boot into safe mode until step13.

Run HJT with no other programmes open. Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\windows\ALCMTR.EXE

Reboot your system.

Post the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan as well as Combofix and fresh HJT logs.

Regards Howard :)

That looks fine.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\VundoFix Backups
C:\FOUND.000
C:\QOOBOX

You can remove/uninstall the various tools such as Combofix/Vundofix/Smitfraudfix etc.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Now, turn system restore back on. This will have deleted all your old restore points and any nasties that are in them. It will also have created a new, clean restore point.

Rehide your protected OS files and reboot your system.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

ok thank you!

ok im just unsure about this.

this ad.doubleclick thingy always take forever to load! be it im using IE or firefox!

what isit? its so irritating. i have to refresh alot of times!

What is the speed of your internet?

Is it only that page you`re having problems with? maybe, there`s a problem with your ISP.

Regards Howard :)

im on 1.5mbps if im not wrong.
nope alot of pages have this problem and its always the ad.doubleclick thing loading. i believe it happens to random pages, but it happens rather often..

I sometime have the same problem with ad.doubleclick. I think it`s more of a problem with their servers than anything else. Have you tried using a proxy? It might help to speed things up a bit.

Regards Howard :)

greetings.

so now theres a new problem.. my comps lag so bad! seems to be explorer.exe

when i bring up task manager, shows explorer.exe and system idle processess using up a HUGE chunk of resouces.. lags my comp so bad!

I`m sorry to hear that.

Try turning off Windows automatic updates and see if that helps.

If it doesn`t, please post HJT, Combofix and AVG Antispyware logs.

Regards Howard :)

it frigging lags my comp so bad whenver i open it to view any files. im having a hard time trying to access to HJT and combofix which is inside my C:. bollocks.

have to wait awhile. getting on my nerves damnit

I take it that turning off Windows automatic updates hasn`t helped?

Once I`ve seen your logfiles, I might have a better idea of what the cause of the problem is.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 from HERE. Save it to your Desktop and extract it.

2. Download the attached avengerscript.txt and save it to your desktop

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by double clicking on its icon on your desktop.

Under "Script file to execute" choose "Load script from file".
Now click on the folder icon which will open a new window titled "open Script File"
navigate to the file you have just downloaded, click on it and press open
Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:

It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

5. Please attach the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply, as well as a fresh HJT log. Let me know if you`re still having problems.

Regards Howard :)
