Getting rid of McAfee

I am currently working on my lap top. Virus protection is expiring. I am not sure wether or not to remove the old anti virus before adding the new program. I have one license left on a Panda anti virus. Yet wondering if AVG is better?

Remove the old antivirus program before installing a new antivirus program.

AVG is no better than Panda,but it is FREE.

As long as you have a good firewall and your sensible on the net

AVG FREE and a few anti spyware programs are all you need.

Thank you so much for your reply. I was given the Panda software, as a gift, so I am going to try it. I am using a dlink router that has a firewall. Do I need to install one on the laptop.

Yes.

Router firewalls don`t provide much,if any outbound protection.

You need a software firewall to let you know what is trying to get

to the internet.Very useful,if you get spyware on your system.

Zone Alarm,Kerio and Comodo are the Techspot favorites.

Whats wrong with Mcafee other than yours expried, thats what I use on all of my systems, I think it is very good protection

I just wanted to try another program. At work we use Panda and my boss gave me the disc to download. My other half uses AVG, with no problems. I never had a problem with Mcafee, I just have heard so much about AVG and Panda was free for me this time.
