Getting rid of Trojan Generic2.WOO

How do I get rid of this trojan and what does it do? My AVG (Free Edition) has 12 items in the Virus Vault including this and other trojans. How do I get rid of them???? Is my pc safe to use whilst they are in the vault?
I'm a total novice and not sure what to do!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Don`t panic, I`m sure we can clean your system. Yes your pc is safe to use, while they are in the vault.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Make sure AVG is fully updated, then do the following.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Run a full system scan with AVG and delete whatever it finds(empty the virus vault).

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.

Then, go and read this thread HERE.

Post a HJT log as an attachment into this thread and I`ll take a look and advise.

Install adaware and spybot for futher protection.
