Getting system info remotely

I need to get system information for all my computers in State. Instead of having to take the time and call each person or office to let them know I need to vnc into the machine. I’m trying to just come in the back way by run \\computer name\C$ and go into the program files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe but it can’t do that.

I get an error saying that the Snap-in failed to initialize.

Name:<unknown>

Would you know how I can access the computers without bothering anyone, or having to wait in case they're busy.

thanks

I can go into computer management and connect to a remote computer but when I do that then drop down to Disk Management I get a message saying Unable to connect to Logical Disk Manager Service.
