Gigabyte mother board

ok i have a gigabyte ga-ma69gm-s2h... and an amd opteron processor the 2.4 model 1216 and it says does not support... does that mean my **** isnt compatible? or can i just go for it neways

there is the compatible CPU list for ur mobo:

and as U can see the only opteron supported is the 1210 not ur 1216

Now, trithumb, you DID ask if it was compatible (even after seeing that it wasn't). Rascard was only trying to help you.

As to your question, I don't know the exact answer but I wouldn't use an unsupported CPU.

To be honest, I think you pretty much answered your own question. The other guy was merely taking it into more detail to assit you so there wouldn't be confusion as to what the proper CPU for your mobo is.
