Google Redirect Issue

Hi All,

New to the boards here, and I've run into the "Google Redirect" issue. Tried running it through a couple different spyware programs (ad-aware and S & D) as well as my normal virus scanning, but nothing's coming up.

Here's my HT Log, and any help is appreciated.

Never tell anyone to follow instructions that were given to someone else.

Each case is different and should be treated as such.

Hello mshelton and welcome to TechSpot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether to clean or reformat your system, read this thread and decide what you want to do.

If, after reading the above thread, you decide to clean your system, do the following.

Please go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all of the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HijackThis, ComboFix, and AVG Anti-Spyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, post here the results of the Panda Antirootkit scan.

Regards :)

Don't refer someone to another thread for help "unless" it's a known Windows problem with 'standard' information or fix.

The referenced thread has Attached Files
File Type: txt AVG Anti-Spyware - Scan Report.txt (13.8 KB, 2 views)
File Type: txt ComboFix.txt (13.8 KB, 3 views)
File Type: txt ComboFix.txt (13.8 KB, 3 views)
Plus File Type: log: hijack log

But there is NO mention that these files were event consulted! Hijack Logs are specific to the user, but it appears no review was even done.

There are other questions on this board about the Google Redirect, but the consensus appears to be that it is likely malware causing it. It would be wise for you to follow the instructions that kitty500cat has given.
