Got a question for everyone

I called Dell on my backlight problems and they told me i would have to send it in and they explain the costs and everything. It is abou 450 dollars but if it isn't the lcd screen they will send me 300 back. but i'm scared to send it in cause i don't want it to cost that much. I talked to the representive and she seemed to think it was the cable being lose. What do you guys think. Do you think it is a LCD screen problem. Does anyone really know what classifes as a LCD screen problem. I can still see the picture and it functions when a light is shinning on it. What does everyone think? Please comment.
