Gyroscopic Mouse usability question

Anyone ever used one of these things? If you were to hold it out in front of you and swing it to your left about 12-18" and then swing it back to your right the same distance, first would the cursor hit the edges of your screen (is it able to be slowed down like a regular mouse) and second, would it return to the same place on the screen as where you started from?

I'd like to hear from anyone that knows or has used one in the past before I drop $100-$200 on one.

sounds like an interesting toy. I don't know how practical it is.

It would be for a DoD project at work. Whether it can return to the same location after a 12-18" movement in 1 direction is the big question I need answered. I may end up posting a message on a local community forum to see if anyone has one I could use for about 30 seconds to see if it can do what I need.
