Halo for PC questions

When I run Halo on my PC it bogs down in inside places. I'm running a(n) AMD Athlon XP 2600, 512 mgs of RAM, and a Geforce FX 5700LE. Any help on how to make the game smoother? Is it my PC or bad programming?

It's been because of your 3d card. Easy wayChange your 3d card to at least FX 5900.There is another way, in game graphic option v-sync off and refresh rate to 85 Hz.Possible you are using with 17" monitor.

Yes it looks like your video card is ... well under powered.
But It hink you would be ok if you turned off or down some of the special graphics features. Like reflections and shadows and such.
But the best thing to do would be to run the game by modifing your Halo short cut to force DX8.1 vs DX9
Sorry to say I for get how to do that because I have moved past my 5600 Ultra over a year ago or so.
But a quick scanning of Halo forums and you should find a how to post on that.
