Having a display problem

  1. I am visualising grey lines on my screen and my scrollbar is slightly transparent

The lines start from one end of the screen to the other. Have tried adjusting color quality but still the same outcome. Basically where ever there is text there will be that grey line behind, same goes with images. Do I need a new monitor?

    OS: Windows XP Pro

COMPAQ MV540 Color Monitor on NVIDIA Vanta/Vanta LT

    Screen Res: 800 x 600

    Color Quality: Highest (32 bit)

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I don`t know if it`s a monitor problem or not.

However, if you can try a different monitor and the problem disappears, at least you`d know it wasn`t a problem with the computer itself.

Hi Howard, thanks for the welcome.

I attached a pic with exactly what I'm seeing. Hope this helps.

Sorry to say bud, it's your Monitor that's having the problems, the picture you attached looks fine to me.

I agree with Akio. That pic looks fine, so it`s gotta be a monitor problem.

    Regards Howard :)
