Having Display Issues

Whats up peoples. My PC is an ACER ASPIRE E380.....I installed an ATI Radeon X1550 256mb x16PCI Express video card.....running Windows Vista Home Premium...my monitor is an ACER AL1916W. The Problem is no matter what I am doing the screen goes black for about a senond but no longer than comes back sometimes 2-3 times in a row. I have checked all connections they are good, have all the latest drivers. I am thinking it is a driver issue with vista but i am not sure I am new with vista and this is the first time I have used an ATI video card...have always used Nvidia. I conntacted Acer but they are not much help. Any help or info to solve this problem of blanking out will be helpful. Thanks for your time

well never mind.....i found the issue got it fixed....thanks for the help
