I had been having trouble with my WDigital HD (started clicking) and then my computer shut down and couldn't see the HD. I assumed it was kaput and sent it back and got a new one, but I have the same problem now.

It's a Serial ATA, so I have the power hooked up (it does turn on), and the other cable attached, but no matter what I try it won't start.

I fooled around with the jumpers (I set it on what my old one was set) as well as tried some other stuff, to make sure the HD and CDrom weren't conflicting as Master and Slave, but nothing. It doesn't show up even if I unplug the CDrom.

Please help anyone. My computer was working fine, then this happened and I don't know what to do. I've replaced the HD and set everything just like it was before my computer went bad, but it's not working.

Have you installed the drivers for your serial ATA controller on the motherboard , without them your pc will not recognise the drive.
