HD problems

I went over to get my friends music off his external hard drive (Western Digital), and he says now that he is having trouble accessing anything on his external. I tried to copy his music onto my external USB that I plugged into his computer. What is going on and can I recover his stuff considering nothing has been deleted. Also, why does this error keep occuring and is there any way to stop it.

I suggest you use data recovery software such as EASEUS DataRecoveryWizard to recover files.

You can use "AdvancedRecovery" to scan your corrupted partition. After the scan is complete, the lost file will be displayed in DataRecoveryWizard, you can select them and recover them.

you don't say what happened on plugin of usb device
did the OS see it or?
if it did can you access that drive first
does it even see usb device hardware under computer management
check and reinstall the usb drivers maybe?
