Hdd fail

i connected my hard disk in my computer while the power was on. it was my hard disk from my xbox and it had evrything on it. now it wont work. is there anything i can do to fix it.

"in my computer" as in you connected it to the IDE interface?
LOL. Serves you right really..
You probably fried the HD or the controller in your computer.

You can replace the PCB on the drive itself if you find another identical HD. That is if it is the drive PCB that was damaged.

examples I've seen:

uh.... I got a virus on my computer and it toasted my data and I don't use anti-virus software.....

um I let my kid play games on my computer while eating an ice cream cone and now the keys are all sticky

I installed a new motherboard without grounding myself and I saw a spark hit the motherboard, now it won't work

my spouse forced a floppy disk into the zip drive and now it's stuck

I was using my laptop while on the toilet and it slipped and fell in and got wet, now it won't work

I was surfing porn and downloaded a trojan and now all my files are corrupted

I use instant messanging software and can't understand why I have viruses

I posted my email address on a public forum and now I am inundated with spam

I loaded windows XP on my ancient computer with 256mb of memory and can't understand why it's slow.

I use windows ME

I took my hard disk out from another computer and installed it in my new computer and I can't understand why it won't work
