I have two computers and one of them messed up, since its not my computer i didn't put much effort on it and just tried to reformat it. When i deleted the partition and tried to reformat it started giving a BSOD at 3% of the reformat.
The error gave this:

Driver_Unloaded_Without_Cancelling_Pending_Operation
Stop: 0x000000CE (0xF7AED667, 0x00000000, 0xF7AED667, 0x00000000)
partmgr.sys

I tried to reformat on the 2 different computers and it didn't work, Is the HDD defective or could it be a bad OS cd.

Thanks!

Try not using the cd use disk management if you're running 200/xp on the second computer.

Yes probably bad cd

This is the meaning of your stop message.

0x000000CE: DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING_PENDING_OPERATIONS

A driver failed to cancel pending operations before exiting. Commonly occurs after installing faulty drivers or system services.

Since partmgr.sys is a Windows driver, I suspect a faulty OS disk.

However, just to make sure, go HERE and download the correct hard drive utility and test the hard drive.

Regards Howard :)
