Help - bad image error

With each game I try to load I get a message like this (BF2 for example)

BF2 (v1.2.2552-344.0, pid:3756):BF2.exe - Bad Image

The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d8thk.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
