HELP!! CPU fan turns only for 5 seconds!!

Hey Guys

I built a new pc sterday

Intel E6400
Intel d975xbx
Seagate st3250620AS
Ocz gold 2gb 667Mhz
CPU cooling fan : Big typhoon
Antec TX1050B case with SP500 PSU

Now After putting everything 2gether, when I switch on power, the CPU fan turns for about 5 seconds slowly and then turns off, the LED on the mobo is still on though. When I push the power button on the case the fan goes again for 5 seconds and goes off. No beeps no video, nothing. Any suggestions guys?

Would be of gr8 help if someone could throw some light on it.

Additionally if i connect the case fan directly to the PSU, no reaction. The fan doesnt turn at all. Could it be faulty PSU?

I tried taking the RAM sticks off- yet no beeps

It sounds like a faulty PSU. It may be worth swapping it into another system to check.

Thats definately the PSU. Also when you come to buy a new PSU Click here to find out how much power you system needs.
