:(

I just picked up my nice new pc parts, and put them all together myself. Ive done this many times before :S

AMD64 3700 San Diego
Abit An8 Ultra
2x512 ram
250GB sata
6600GT Xpert Vision 256MB

So I power up, and nothing.
There is a led thing that displays the POST codes on the motherboard
It stops on error code 04
Ive looked on google, and its something to do with the memory. So i removed the ram, and still the same thing. I removed the 6600 and hey presto it gets past 04 and then stops on the error for no graphics card like it should.

So its definately the 6600. ive tried clearing cmos several times. i reseated the graphics card several times.

PLEASE HELP ME!!

try and run without hard drive, you should run the cpu, 512 m ram, and video card first then add one more memory and the hard drive in one thing at time

Don't rule out the memory. The videocard will do a bios checksum into main memory. Bad memory can cause the effect you're encountering.

Try with one stick at a time.. and reverse sticks to ensure both are working.

Last, but not least, use the CMOS clear jumper on the mainboard (follow the book instructions) and then fire it back up again with 1-stick + videocard and NO other cards/devices connected (no HD's, no floppy, no nada.. dont even plug in their power cables).
