Hi,
I have just bought the parts to my new computer.
I have installed everything on the motherboard.
Evidently, nothing is running. The fan isnt running, the CPU isnt running, NOTHING is running. The computer only worked ONCE when my knee accidentally bumped into the case and it miracously started running. After that, it couldnt run again.
What could be the problem? Is it the motherboard, the power supply, or something shorted out? Please I need a answer, this problem is driving me crazy.

Hello kevlar22 and welcome to techspot

Does your motherboard light light up

reply

i haf made sure i have plugged in everything rite
GigaByte K8N-PRO SLI motherboard:
Antec Smart Power 500W
Antec SLK-3000B Mid Tower ATX case
Pioneer DVR-110D Dual Layer DVD RW burner
WD Caviar SE 160Gb SATA-150 HD
Patriot Signature 1GB PC-3200DDR Dual Channel Kit
Asus 6800GT
Athlon 64 3200+ 939 2ghzHTT:

i asked my frend nd he came over to my house
but after he left he deducted that i should try it out with another power supply
if the other power supply works then that means its the power supply problem
if it doesnt work its a possibility that its the motherboard problem
but during the entire procedure of building it me and my frend were wearing latex gloves and when we took them off we grounded ourselves
please i need a answer quick
and thank you

i am going to repeat myself
nothing turns on.......... sigh i shouldve just bought a comp instead
it could be the possibility of the PSU dying, but its brand new

is the green light on the motherboard on?

I had the same problem as you, it was because i pluged the front panal connector in backward

har de har har
well im going to sleep soon
YES i haf made sure everything is plugged in and the power switch turned on
i dont understand wut u mean by "is your psu switched to 120 If in the usa
220 if europ"
thx for ur concern
i will try to try my system out wif a diff power supply
i hope its the power supply
cuz if it isnt that means its the motherboard........... and i haf to return it and get it exchanged

"is your psu switched to 120 if in the usa 220 if in europe"
some psu comes with a variable voltage setting on the back because the mains in some countries are different. switch accordingly
