Hi Everyone: I'm totally new to this and signed up because you all sound like geniuses after reading some of your postings. Anyways.

My screen is stuck on 800x600 setting and when I go to change it, the setting reverts back. I can't go into the Advanced settings either. Based on some of the postings i've read it sounds like something to do with a video card? Except I don't know what that is, or how to install/reinstall or whatever it is I need to do. Please HELP me as I'm going crazy staring at this screen! :) Thanks in advance for any insight...

in my "Add or Remove Programs" section it shows I have ATI Display Driver but I can't uninstall it. What do I use to uninstall before installing whatever driver it is I need to install?

First download the drivers that LNCPapa linked. Right click on 'My Computer' and select 'Manage' then 'Device Manager'. In the right pane double-click on 'Display Adapters'. If it says VGA something then just install the drivers; if it says ATI maybe you're running the onboard graphics chip and you'll have to disable it, probably in BIOS (read the MB manual); If it says Matrox then double-click on it and click on the Driver tab in the window that comes up. Click on the 'Uninstall' button. Your system will probably want to reboot.

When it comes back it will try to install the drivers again so you will need to cancel it. Now Double-click on the new drivers you downloaded and let them install. I hope that works for you. I don't think I skipped anything, but I tend to overlook stuff when trying to go through a procedure in my head.
