Help on formatting a harddrive

Well I had fedora core 4 on this harddrive, and now when I try to format it in windows it shows the file type is raw and I can't convert it or format it. How do I format a raw file type HDD then?

If you're not trying to install windows on that drive than you could try to install Partition Magic.

Either way, you can zero the drive with Daryl's Nuke disk (you can get it here and it's free). It will erase everything on the harddrive so Windows will see it as unformatted or unallocated space.
