Help please

I have a toshiba model # i think is 2805-5201. Im having trouble powering it on. The lights on the laptop the one that has the plug symbol is the only one blicking but for a split second the whole thing powered on then it turned back off any ideas?

Do you have a spare power adapter? Have you noticed the power adapter having any problems like excessive smell or excessive heat? Cuz it seems like a power adapter problem, though I don't know how you could replace that component.

It seems like it is the part that it plugs into the laptop because when i wiggle the cord it will turn on some times then back off
