Help with a HP Jetdirect EX setup Please

I was given a Jetdirect EX. it has no manuals etc. and I have no
idea how to get it to work. I have gone to the HP website and
have downloaded two proggies:
HP Install Network Printer Wizard
HP Web jet Admin

Neither of them can "see" the jetdirect, or printer..... so they don't
work. The Jet Admin lets me "tweak" the firmware options, but still
can't detect anything.
I am running W2K and BlackIce firewall on 3 machines hooked up
through a 4 port router to cable. The home network works fine (tcp/ip only)
I would realy love to get my printer out onto the network.....
Any help / advice will be very much appreciated.

i've got the Jetdirect EX Plus so im sure it will be the same thing. Hook up the jetdirect to the 10base internet on the hub, and take the parralel and put it into the jetdirect. Also plug in the power of course. Hig the TEST button and make sure the printer is on. It will print out several pages, u will need to find where it has the IP Address. Then run the Network Priter Wizard and enter in the ip address rather than browsing for it. This should work. If not, then disable the win2k and blackice firewalls and then try. It took me a bit to get it all working too, so don't feel badly.

I have held down the test button... but it didnt print anything?
maybe it's bad?

It may be the printer. What printer do you have hooked up to it? Sometimes it doesn't print for some reason. The first time i hooked it up to my epson, it wouldn't print the test page, but the second time a week later it did.

it's a HP 722C....... and any ***** (me) should know that it's a
"win" printer and cant be networked. I'm getting a 900 series
next week that will take care of the problem.

No IP Address on JetDirect EX

Using the test button on my JetDirect Ex shows that the IP address is 0.0.0.0.
Since Jet Admin can't see this unit and I can't telnet to 0.0.0.0, how can I setup this box?

I have several JetDirect Ex boxes and none of them are seen by JetAdmin.
