I am a newcomer and firstly, I want to say hello!.
And then, let's talk about my problem with my pc...
It may be a classic: I need your help. Because of some problems, I made formatted my pc to a technical man and he installed WinXP instead of Win98 and then, he left my house...
Now, I couldn't listen anything on my computer, because my sound card doesn't work. I tried to download from internet and install sound card driver (opti 82c931) but these efforts didin't work. When I open winamp or wmp, I see same error message... May be I couldn't do something that is very easy, I don't know... So, I need your help...
reddish

Check out Device Manager. Any device with a question mark (?) is a failure.

If your sound device is included, try downloading the driver from another source.

Is your sound card mounted on a PCI slot? Check the bios. Perhaps your motherboard has a built-in sound card. You can't run 2 sound cards at the same time. Disable the built-in sound device, or remove the PCI card.

good luck
