I've been using my husbands laptop for a few weeks now and today my ebay account got hacked into. I've dealt w/ fixing all that but i'd just like to feel better about the internet security going on w/ this computer that i don't know much about. Can you take a look at my attached hjt log file please?

Hi,

Have HijackThis fix the following:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
O1 - Hosts: ::1 localhost
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O13 - Gopher Prefix:

Other than that, your log is clean.

Turn off system restore (XP/ME only). Learn how to do that HERE.
This will remove all the remaining nasties from your old restore points.

After that turn system restore back on.
This would have created a new safe and clean restore point for your system.

I did notice that you are using Windows Defender. I suggest you switch to some other better alternative like these:

For firewalls please use one and only one. Using more than one is not recommended as it will hog your system resources.
Zonealarm
Kerio
Comodo

Should you have any further problems, please post in this thread.

Regards,
Your friendly momok =)
