my internet explorer/msn messenger/windows media play just don't work anymore. i dunno why lol
it's fine on another login name

Follow these instructions EXACTLY and put HijackThis in e.g C:\Program Files\HJT and NOT in Temp or on the Desktop!.

hijackthis is located at
c:\program files\hijackthis and so is the log file

i just thought someone might be able to let me know what i can get rid of in the log

Your HJT is out of date.

Read my post How to remove Begin2Search/Coolwebsearch and Other Nasties , the part
about the HJT treatment, looking specifically at: R3, O2, O16 and O23.
Do what it says there when you find the matching entries in your log.
