How do i change my IRQ:s *SOLVED*

First specs:
Mobo: msi865pe Neo2 PFISR
Processor: Intel Celeron 2,4GHz
OS: Windows XP Pro Service Pack2
Video card: Ati Radeon 9200se (128MB)
BIOS-type: AMI (09/29/04)
Memory: 1024MB
Sound: Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller [A-2/A-3]

Problem is this: How do i change IRQ:s especially when i cant change them at device manager? My system locks or hangs. Number 16 (PCI) is reserved to 2 usb:s and video card. Video card is AGP based. This is quite frustrating because this is new motherboard.

I beleive you cant change IRQ's in device manager with windows XP. You can plug the device into a different slot to change its irq. Also, you can try to change it in your system BIOS.

Hello! Welcome to TechSpot!

I think this is the MoBo you have
msi865pe Neo2 PFISR
I could not find a manual on this site. So you'll need to refer to
the one that came woth this MoBo.
So what I'd do is go into the bios and disable any serial ports, ir ports
Lpt ports, that you will not be using. This will free up resources.
Not knowing your bios it should be "pci configuration" or something,
by default it's ussually set to auto. I believe what you'll need to do is assign
or lock specific irq's to agp pci slots.
There may be others here that can explian this better than me.

Further

So i have managed to release IRQ:s. Ive disabled COM1, COM2 and USB:s. But that has not solved the problem. And why windows says that display card is in PCI slot when it is in AGP slot? I have tried different settings at bios but i keep receiving lock ups or hangs. Because i am not professional with computers could someone kindly tell me what to do.

This is how my bios looks like:

PNP/PCI configuration

Clear NVRAM: no
PCI latency Timer (PCI Clocks): 32
Init graphics adapter priority: AGP/PCI
PCI IDE busmaster: Disabled
PCI SLot 1 IRQ priority: from 3-11
PCI Slot 2/5 IRQ priority: from 3-11
PCI Slot 3 IRQ priority: from 3-11
PCI Slot 4 IRQ priority: from 3-11

Set IRQ:s to PCI or ISA

IRQ 3 PCI/PnP
IRQ 4 PCI/PnP
IRQ 5 PCI/PnP
IRQ 7 PCI/PnP
IRQ 9 PCI/PnP
IRQ 10 PCI/PnP
IRQ 11 PCI/PnP
IRQ 14 PCI/PnP
IRQ 15 PCI/PnP

Set DMAs to PnP or ISA

DMA channel 0
DMA channel 1
DMA channel 3
DMA channel 5
DMA channel 6
DMA channel 7

Heres device resources:

Resource Share Device Description
DMA 04 Exclusive DMA
IRQ 00 Exclusive System timer
IRQ 01 Exclusive Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
IRQ 08 Exclusive system CMOS/clock
IRQ 09 Shared SCSI/RAID Host Controller
IRQ 10 Shared Intel(R) 82801EB SMBus Controller - 24D3
IRQ 12 Exclusive PS/2 -mouse
IRQ 13 Exclusive Floating point
IRQ 14 Exclusive Primary IDE-kanava
IRQ 15 Exclusive Secondary IDE-kanava
IRQ 16 Shared RADEON 9200 SERIES
IRQ 17 Shared Realtek AC'97 Audio
IRQ 20 Shared Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC
IRQ 20 Shared Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System

Ifsomeone needs/wants more information about device resources i can copy/paste them. Let me know.

It asppears the irq 16 is no longer shared.
agp=accelerated graphics port, this is a pci slot of sorts. This is my configuration:

10 : Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24DE

I think you are going to want to enable bus mastering.
Possibly update the chipset drivers.
Beyond this I need to call on other members to help us with this one.

Don't give up!

Hmm, i dont know is something wrong with the user or hardware. Usually it is with user.
As you can see bus mastering is enabled. I also updated chipset drivers. It does not help. This has gone to so weird measures that i can not handle this. Im totally helpless.
Yesterday i tried with matrox g400 32mb gaphics card. Still locks and hangs.( I installed Matrox drivers.)So faulty card is out of question. I changed 512mb DIMM. Still locks and hangs. Ive disabled floppy drive and 2 of my HD:s. This is 4th night in a row when im fighting with this and only thing where ive advanced is my sense of humour.

*solved*

All i did was this: i went to ATI Catalyst center and there i set AGP speed to 4x instead of 8x. Machine runs well now. I played online about 2 hours Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory and i did not have any problems.
And i have all usb:s, COM,s and drives working. I dont have to worry about IRQ:s. Its weird how human mind starts to solve problems. (Read this thread). :knock:

Thanks for posting back, you got it solved.
That is very bizzare...
I'm very glad it's working.
Is your video card a 4x or 8x agp?
"(Read this thread)" is this a link?

Thread?

Not a link, i meant those previous posts about this same subject.
My motherboard supports 4x and 8x speeds.( Whatever that means).
Thanks for support.
