WHAT DVI TO HDMI CABLE DO I BUY?...does it matter if its hdmi to dvi or dvi to hdmi?

cuz im confused about female to male and male to male ,male to female...

can som1 find me the right cable that will allow me to view HD content from my pc to my tv?

the 8600gt can display HD very well...i just dont know what connection i need

The cable is expensive. First you need to know what the TV requires, then find a cable that will fit your computer output... usually found at the TV website, then you can go to the better online stores... or www.LCom.com or www.cyberguys.com

Heh, I had never even thought about "different" DVI-HDMI cables. I don't think I've even seen anything other than DVI (male) to HDMI (male), excluding some small adapters.

You'll need that. Not expensive - 5.0 meter DVI-HDMI cable can be had for around $25 here.

You won't need any "hifi" cables with carbon fiber, gold or other ridiculous things for hundreds of dollars.

Newegg link, the first search result, 2m cable for $8. Should work fine.

Also make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers, they solve any overscan issues you could potentially have.
