how to reactivate the property of game controller in windows xp?

I have a pc with windows xp(sp2) and recently i bought a plug and play usb vibrational joystick(with a driver).Initially it was allright,but now i can't calibrate it by entering into control panel>game controller>property,as whenever i click on the 'property' tab,nothing happens,as if this tab has been disabled.Please help me to get rid of this problem.

can't calibrate? this is weird, why dun u go to device manager (winkey+break) and reinstall it? or put it in other usb slot...

If i use another usb slot,can i again use the 'property' button of the game controller (in controll panel) to calibrate my joystick?
