Hp pavilion can't find harddrive

I have purchased a used hp pavilion ze5170, It will not find the hard drive. I purchased a new hard drive and it still does not work. I go into the Bios and the boot is set on fd,cd,hd then lan. this computer has ze 41oo bios, is that the correct Bios. Does anyone know where I can get the Bios for a ze5170 on a fd?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Try changing the ide cable, it might just help.

If that doesn`t work than maybe you`re looking at a bad ide controller/bad mobo.
