HSP56 Micromodem

It's old actually, bought a PC year 1999. The modem was working fine but now I can't seem to use any of my ports to make it work. A warning shows up that IRQ 3 and 4 are being used, I can't set up the interrupt, when I check for my mdem it's not installed. Can anyone help me?

Disable COM1(IRQ4) and/or COM2(IRQ3) in your BIOS. Then try again.

Didn't work. No I can't edit the IRQ. It's always on 11 and I need it to be 4...... Man HPS56k micromodems stinks.

I searched for thier website on the net so I could complain.... Found none.... sigh...

That is a winmodem, they can run from any IRQ.
Try the generic 56K modemdrivers from Windows, after you UNinstalled the modem-software first.
Moving it to another slot might also help.

nothing. I can't edit the IRQ which is what I need to make it work. This modem is soo stoopid!

The proper drivers have xtra programs with them to take care of that, PCTSPK and a few others that I don't remember.
A new PCI modem only costs $12-15
